Upgrade Notice: ITS Private Cloud VMware vCenter Server to Version 8.0: February 21, 2025 (Fri) 4:30PM - 10:00PM

As part of our commitment to delivering high-quality service to the University of Toronto community, we are pleased to announce that the ITS Private Cloud core component, VMware vCenter Server, will be upgraded to version 8.0 on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 04:30 PM to 10:00 PM.

During the upgrade process, please note the following:

• vCenter Server will be unavailable.

• Virtual Machines (VMs) will continue to run without interruption.

• Remote access (e.g., SSH, RDP, HTTPS) to VMs will remain available.

• The following services will be unavailable:

  • vSphere Client: https://vctr5-1.dcb.eis.utoronto.ca

  • ITS Private Cloud Portal: https://cloud-portal.eis.utoronto.ca

  • ITS Private Cloud API: https://vss-api.eis.utoronto.ca

  • ITS Private Cloud CLI: vsscli-demo.eis.utoronto.ca and https://vss-cli.eis.utoronto.ca

• Scheduled VM snapshots or changes will not be processed during this time.
