Rate Changes: Phase 3
Starting May 1st, 2025, we will enter Phase 3 of our structured rate adjustment for the ITS Private Cloud service. https://eis-vss.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/VSSPublic/blog/2025/02/24/1945698399
vCenter Upgraded to v8.0
Now that the ITS Private Cloud vCenter Server has been successfully upgraded to v8.0, we recommend reviewing the following https://eis-vss.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/VSSPublic/pages/1074298881 to get familiar with the new changes, including Operating Systems, Security features and more.
Virtual Machine Encryption
Encryption for Virtual Machine disks is now available via the ITS Private Cloud Portal, API, and Command Line Interface. Learn more https://eis-vss.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/VSSPublic/pages/1944879137 .
ITS Private Cloud Portal
VM Encryption
This feature enhances the protection of sensitive data and ensures the security and integrity of virtual environments against unauthorized access and potential breaches.
You can now enable or disable "encryption" using the "Encryption" toggle as demonstrated below.
The encryption or decryption process may take many minutes to hours depending on the VM provisioned size.
Command Line Interface
v2025.2.1
compute vm get encryption: add command to obtain current vm encryption status.
vss-cli compute vm get {vm-id} encryption
is_encrypted : True
migrate_encryption_mode: required
ft_encryption_mode : ftEncryptionRequiredThe attribute is_encrypted indicates the overall encryption status of the virtual machine. migrate_encryption_mode specifies that vMotion will be encrypted, while ft_encryption_mode enables Fault Tolerance Encryption.
compute vm set encryption: add command to set vm encryption status.
