How-to commission physical or virtual clients to UTORrecover
Learn how to commission physical or virtual clients using UTORrecover with this detailed guide. Make sure to have installed the NetWorker Client on the target host and allow communication using ports 7938/udp and 7937:9936/tcp from the UTORrecover NetWorker Backup Server IP addresses.
Instructions
Login to the UTORrecover Portal: https://backups.eis.utoronto.ca
Click on "Connectivity > Echo". Access the Connectivity Check aka "Echo" request.
Fill the new client FQDN. Fill in the fully qualified domain name.
Click "Submit" to execute the connectivity test.
Click "History Section". Navigate to the "History Section" to verify the status of the request or check your email.
Click "View Details". View the detailed information of the request to confirm it has been successfully processed.
Click "Life Cycle > Commission". Initiate the commission process by clicking on the "Life Cycle" menu and then "Commission".
Click "Select a request". Select a successful echo request associated with the client to be commissioned. Requests shown include the last 24 hrs.
Click "Select a Workflow". From the Workflow dropdown, select a workflow to add the client to.
Select "Directive". Select an available "Directive" based on the client operating system.
Fill out "Aliases (comma separated)". Provide aliases separated by commas. This includes any additional FQDN or hostname including subdomain. i.e. host.subdomain
Fill out "IP Address”. The IP address must resolve to the FQDN previously selected.
Click "Submit” to kick-in the client commission.
Navigate to the "History Section" to review the commissioning request status.
Click "View Details" to verify the detailed information to confirm the client has been created successfully.
