VSS CLI

  1. Install VSS CLI
  2. Get VM Uuid 

    vss compute vm ls -f name ecstatic_mccarthy
    uuid                                  name
    ------------------------------------  -----------------------
    501220a5-a091-1866-9741-664236067142  1611T-ecstatic_mccarthy


  3. Get ISO to mount

    vss compute iso ls -f name CentOS-7.0
    path                                                           name

  4. Mount iso

    vss compute vm set 501220a5-a091-1866-9741-664236067142 cd 1 --iso "[vss-ISOs] Linux/CentOS/CentOS-7.0-1406-x86_64-DVD.iso"


Web UI

  1. Log in to https://hig.eis.utoronto.ca
  2. Go to VM Change Request form.
  3. Fill out the info data. Click Next.
  4. Select the Virtual Machine you wish to mount the ISO on. Click Next.
  5. Select as VM Property "CD/DVD Device"
  6. Select the CD/DVD unit number (usually is 1).
  7. Select ISO File as Backend.
  8. Select from the Dropdown which ISO File should be mounted. 
  9. Click Next, Preview and Submit.

If the ISO file you need is not listed in the dropdown list, please follow the article Upload an ISO image to VSS and then submit a change request.
