Problem

On Windows clients, messages like "Unable to connect to the remote server" or "Could not connect to vctr5-1.dcb.eis.utoronto.ca" from the vSphere client and "This page can't be displayed" from the vSphere web client.

Solution

Administrator privileges is a requirement in order for OpenVPN to work.

Executing OpenVPN as administrator will fix the issue:
  1. Right click on the OpenVPN icon and click on "Run as Administrator".
  2. Right Click on the OpenVPN icon located in the task bar and click Connect.
  3. Type your VSS Credentials
