This guide provides a detailed walkthrough on changing the multi-factor authentication TOTP generation method using the ITS Private Cloud Portal.

Go to cloud-portal.eis.utoronto.ca

1. Introduction

From accessing settings, disabling TOTP to verifying actions, the instructions cover all the necessary steps to complete the process seamlessly.

2. Fill "VSS username password"

Fill in "VSS username password"

3. Fill "VSS username password"

Fill in "VSS Username Password"

4. Click "LOG IN"

Initiate the login process

5. Fill "VSS TOTP Code"

Fill in the TOTP.

6. Click "VERIFY"

Proceed to verify

7. Click here

Access the User menu.

8. Click "Settings"

Navigate to the Settings menu

9. Click "Security"

Access the Security settings

10. Toggle "Two-factor authentication"

Toggle to Disable Multi-Factor Authentication.

11. Fill "VSS username password"

Fill in your "VSS username password".

12. Click "Verify"

Proceed to verify. You will receive an email with a deactivation code.

13. Fill "VSS Token"

Check your email for a TOTP deactivation token. Copy and paste it in the "VSS Token" section.

14. Click "Verify" to completely disable MFA.

Proceed to verify to disable MFA.

15. Toggle to enable MFA

Toggle to enable MFA and start the process.

16. Click "Select an option"

List all available TOTP generation methods. The recommended is "Authenticator App"

17. Select "Authenticator App"

Select "Authenticator App" option and prepare your phone with either DUO, Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator or equivalent to scan a new QR code.

18. Fill "VSS username password"

Write "VSS username password" in the specified field

19. Click "Verify"

Proceed to verify

20. Scan the "QR Code" or copy the "Key"

Scan the QR code with your phone camera or copy and paste the authenticator key.

21. Fill "TOTP code"

Fill in your TOTP code to confirm the configuration successfully completed.

22. Click "Confirm"

Proceed to confirm the action

23. Save "Backup Codes"

Save your backup codes for when you are unable to access your authenticator app.

24. Click "Ok"

Confirm the action
